Wood-n-Tap: Reviews & Ratings
Love love love Wood-n-Tap! The first one I ever went to was in Farmington,CT. I was beyond excited to see Groton was getting our very own. The food at Wood-n-Tap is always freshly made We went today specifically to show our support for the grand opening. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing ! My husband and I split the hummus plate which was huge and absolutely perfect. He got the bison sliders which were to die for with crunchy sweet potato fries and I got a small Caesar salad which is made with their own special Caesar dressing(if you love garlic as much as I do you will loveeeee the dressing). We sat at the bar and had the absolute pleasure of having Mable for our bartender/server. Lots of pleasant conversation getting to know her and looking forward to coming back often to our new favorite spot in town The building is so beautifully designed and it's so beautiful inside, naturally lit and open. My husband and I are so happy for all the staff and owners. Congratulations on your grand opening, see you all again soon
Totally ready to give 3 or 4 stars today based on what I've heard, but the Wood-n-Tap didn't disappoint. Coming in Wednesday evening at 530, the parking lot was pretty full, but our party of 5 had zero wait! I heard some rough stuff about the menu, but we took a lot of risks anyway. My party ordered the Thai salad (that was great), the steak salad (wonderful), shortrib grilled cheese (not out with the rest, but shortly after and delicious), bacon burger (perfectly cooked medium only a little weird with shredded vice sliced cheese), kids pasta with marinara sauce (a little peppery if you have picky kids). All the food exceeded expectations! Our server Jessica did a great job keeping up with us and was engaging with the kiddos. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!
My girlfriend Karina and I had an amazing time at Wood-n-Tap in Groton. We sat at the bar and were lucky to have Jason as our bartender and server—he was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. We started with an appetizer and then went all in with two entrees, each coming with two sides, so we got to try four different sides total. Every bite was flavorful and fresh. The food came out hot and perfectly timed, and Jason made sure our drinks stayed full and we were happy the entire time. The vibe at the bar was fun and relaxed—great for date night or just grabbing a solid meal. Highly recommend this location, and big shoutout again to Jason for the excellent service!
Service was stellar from the moment we arrived. We had cocktails, appetizer and dessert. The nachos were crisp, skimpy one the beef and beans. We had asked for no jalapenos, sadly they were on every layer. The drinks were refreshing and the donut cheesecake was delicious. We will come back.
Went to the new Wood -n- Tap in Groton opening day. Got seated within 20 minutes, service and food was phenomenal from start to finish. Because of that, we returned last night. They were extremely crowded, said the wait would be about 35 to 45 minutes. We had no problem with that and waited for about only 30 minutes. The service was again incredible, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. When we got our food, we were a bit taken aback. I got the bacon burger and my husband got the fish and chips. Or should I say massive amount of chips with tiny pieces of fish. The portions of the fish were smaller than Tyson chicken strips. As you can see by the juxtaposition of the pieces next to the tartar sauce, and the fork next to one of the pieces, we couldn’t believe that this is a normal portion. It literally took 4 bites for him to finish the fish, that were a child sized portion at best. Ge asked if I wanted to try a bite, saying the texture was rubbery and hard to chew, but I declined because it would have lessened the tiny portion even more. Thankfully they overwhelmed the plate with fries otherwise he would have had what amounted to an appetizer bite with nothing else to eat. We will most likely return because the place is great, so is the food and service, but they missed the mark on this dish and won’t ever order the fish and chips again.
